Each kit comes with 1 brake and 3 gas pedal pieces for future replacement. All piece are mapped, computer cut and ready to apply.
THE MATERIAL WE USE:
There are imitations out there but don’t be fooled, only we use the best carbon material available.
This is not a printed sticker or metallic decal. Our material is made of thick flexible vinyl and has a 3D texture to it that refracts light like real carbon fiber. Our texture is the right size and depth to have a pleasant sheen and overall look.
The bottom side of our material has channels that allow for easy installation by almost anyone.
There are cheap carbon material out there but only ATV Base Camp has years of experience with these materials and their characteristic. We have tested dozens of cheaper alternatives that become brittle, peel off, discolor and damage surfaces. Only our Carbon vinyl has the properties to perform the best and look great on your ATV. 4 PIECE KIT CONTENTS:
Each kit comes with 1 precisely cut brake pedal overlay and 3 gas pedal overlays in Carbon Vinyl. We provide 3 pedal overlays for those who use their RZR daily and may experience more wear than normal. This kit will last you many season.
HELPFUL INSTALLATION TIPS & NOTES:
This kit is easy to install because you can reapply each piece several times until it alignes just right. Lift it as many times as you need till you are satisfied with the placement of each piece.
USING WATER TO APPLY:
You do not need water to install this material as it goes on dry. Water can be used if desired but some areas may not stick as well until water is dried up with heat.
APPLYING WITH HEAT:
The glue is activated fully with a hair dryer or heat gun, which allows you to manipulate the material until you are satisfied with its placement. You do not need to heat the material but we recommend it on the gas pedal (lower indent). On the gas pedal apply the overlay and heat the lower area where the indent is. The material will soften and you can push it into the indent. This will prevent dirt from getting under the overlay.
Be very careful to apply only a very small amount of heat. You will notice the material getting soft after just a few seconds. If it gets to soft to work with then wait 5 seconds for it to harden again. Too much heat will burn a hole in the material or disfigure it.
FOLDS, CREASES AND BUBBLES DURING INSTALLATION:
Any folds or mistakes that you make can be pressed out easily, over and over again without damaging the material. If you see a fold, lift it and press it out. Take care not to press any folds down but to lift the material to work the fold out.
STRETCHING:
Please be careful not to stretch the material when pulling it off to realign or work out any kinks. This is especially important when the material is heated. If you have applied heat do not pull on the material. If you do stretch the material it may affect the final shape of the piece. If you accidentally stretch it, finish applying that piece and cut off any excess material.
PRE-INSTALL PREPARATIONS:
You must remove your warning and safety stickers and ALL residue before installing carbon overlays because their shape will show in the material.
Be sure to clean off ALL oil and dirt from the application areas.
Some unpainted plastics “off-gas” and therefore applying onto these plastics will require that they are very clean before application. If you have used a solvent on the plastics please use alcohol or a safe product you are comfortable with to remove the solvent, as it may restrict the material from adhering.
WASHING THE MATERIAL:
Although you can power wash the material, we do recommend you are careful with the amount of PSI you are spraying at the edges as to not lift the edge of the material. If you find that an edge has lifted, wipe the area around it and use heat to and to reactive the glue. Most soaps are okay to use on the material.
Keep in mind that because of the 3D pattern of the material, some dirt may get trapped in the material and may require more thorough cleaning.
